The Little Black Book of Poems: Nervous

If you knew my story.

Every word,

Every wound behind each scar,

Would I still have you?

If you knew who I used to be,

Would you still love the girl I have become?

If only you saw what I saw.

The scenes that cut before my eyes—

Dangerous.

Disastrous.

Would you still see me as you?

You look into my eyes.

I stare back.

I wonder what you see.

Beauty;

Or, a beautiful disaster?

They say the truth will set you free,

But will it just be another excuse to let me go?

xoxo,

macey bee

Fantastic poem. Fantastic. Loved it! Loved every single line. I’ve been in love with the words beautiful disaster ever since I read some lines that went like this: “I could be your beautiful disaster, and you could be my forever after.”

Thank you so much, truly. those words mean the world to me. and the best part is.. i know exactly what you mean about loving the words “beautiful disaster.” they have such a ring with a strong meaning. another phrase i love is “perfectly flawed.” so glad you found my page.
